Bible Reading Plan: July 5-11

We invite you to join us in reading through the Bible together. We're not trying to complete it in a limited time frame like a month or a year; but rather, we want to create a habit (or discipline) of getting to know God's heart through what He's told us about Himself.
We start this week in the Book of Joshua – it records Israel’s transition from a wandering people to a covenant nation under Joshua after Moses’ death. It highlights God’s faithfulness where God teaches His people blessings that come through faith and obedience. Joshua foreshadows Jesus Christ, who leads believers into the eternal inheritance and rest.
When reading, ask yourself the following questions:

When reading, ask yourself the following questions:
- What does it say about God?
- What does it say to/about me?
- What can I learn from this reading?
- July 5, Sun God never changes – worship Him for His steadfastness
Prov 4:5 “Get wisdom; get insight’ do not forget, and do not turn …” - July 6, Mon Let us give God thanks for the freedoms we enjoy in America
Joshua 5: 13-15 [While reading vs 14, insert the word “God” after “fell on his face and worshipped ______”] Q. Joshua is conversing with the commander of the LORD’s army, so why is that ground holy (vs 15)? - July 7, Tues Birthday: Kim Kuebler; Anniv.: Jen & Nate Nichols
Joshua 6: 1-14 How important to hear from God and work off His directives! Joshua’s incentive to obey specifically comes from His hearing from God clearly. How clearly and specifically do you hear from God? How do you distinguish between a ‘feeling that you heard …’ and literally hearing from God? - July 8, Wed Pray for the Youth Ministry – for the leaders and youth
Joshua 6: 15-21 The instructions are clear – everything but the silver and gold, vessels of bronze and iron, are to be destroyed; Rahab and her family were to live. Curiosity Q’s: (a) Rahab is said to have lived in the wall (3:15), did she leave her home before the walls fell? Did other parts of the wall fall, but not hers? (b) if the Israelites were marching on the outside, did the walls cave inward? - July 9, Thur Pray for the students who attended the Art & Science Camp
Joshua 6: 22-27 Rahab, the prostitute, and her family live! Our God is kind and generous to pagans who are gracious to His people. - July 10, Fri After reading today’s lesson, pray for yourself – about sin …
Joshua 7: 1-13 vs 1 – one man disobeyed; 36 men die (vs 5) fleeing the army of Ai …the people of God are disheartened and scared (vs 5). God’s observation (vs 11) – “Israel has sinned; they have …”. A principle in God’s Kingdom – one person’s sin affects the whole congregation! Hence in the NT, you throw out the unrepentant sinner out of the fellowship (Matt 18: 15-17, I Cor. 5: 4-5) - July 11, Sat Pray for a “fear of God” when it comes to unconfessed sin
Joshua 7: 14-26 Quite a serious consequence for the sin of covetousness (vs 21). In vs 20, did Achan repent? If yes, then why was he and his family still stoned and burned?
