Bible Reading Plan: August 30 - September 5

August 28th, 2026

We invite you to join us in reading through the Bible together. We're not trying to complete it in a limited time frame like a month or a year; but rather, we want to create a habit (or discipline) of getting to know God's heart through what He's told us about Himself.

In the Epistles of John, written at the end of his life, John sends these 3 letters calling believers to know the truth about Christ, walk faithfully in it, and demonstrate it through love, obedience, and Christian relationships. He also warns the believer against false teaching and ungodly leadership

When reading, ask yourself the following questions:

What does it say about God?
What does it say to/about me?
What can I learn from this reading?

I John 4: 13-19 How do we know we abide in God and God in us? Ans: we have God’s Spirit (vs 13). Because of this abiding, and the love of God in us, we do not live in “fear” - fear has to do with punishment.
Sept 3, Thur Pray for Arianna, Aleya and Skylar-Rose - they make friends
I John 4: 20-5:2 Loving others is not a feeling, it is a commandment. If you do not have love people who can see, you really can’t claim to love a God that you cannot - you are a “liar” (4: 20). Now all of this is tied together: if you say you love God then it is evident in (a) love God’s commandments and (b) love God’s children - others

I John 5: 3-9 “[God’s] commandments are not burdensome” - is that your experience? Because Christ and God is in us, we are ‘overcomers’ - we can overcome the challenges of this world!
